Center Description: The EducationUSA Center in Sydney is a one-stop shop for students, parents high school careers counsellors and university exchange officers interested in accessing information on studying in the U.S. Note: You need a confirmed appointment to visit the EducationUSA Centre and attend an information session. Without a confirmed appointment you will not be allowed into the Consulate. Photo ID is also required.

Higher Education Fairs

1 Organizer: Australia and New Zealand University Exchange Fair Circuit

Anticipated Audience: Undergraduate students interested in exchange programs. Maintains a calendar of university exchange fairs across Australia and New Zealand
The exchange fair dates in Sydney for 2012 are May 7-11.

2 Organizer: National Association of Prospective Student Advisers (NAPSA)

Anticipated Audience: High school students. NAPSA maintains a calendar of high school college fairs for each Australian state and territory. In New South Wales these high school college fairs take place between March - June.

Program Highlights

Explaining the US undergraudate application process.

The EducationUSA office has instituted regular school holiday group information sessions for high school students and parents. During the school holidays we run 3 information sessions each week.


EducationUSA Sydney reaches students through Facebook and Twitter

The US Consulate General's Facebook page has a dedicated "Study in the US" tab to share the latest information on U.S. college trends with students, parents and high school careers advisers. Visitors have increased 500% over six months largely driven by students. EducationUSA "tweets" all outreach activities to our growing audience.
