On October 30-31, 2010, representatives from 67 colleges and universities from the U.S., Canada, Grenada, and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as the CXC in Barbados, the Organization of American States, the Australian High Commission and two local banks met with hordes of local students at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre in Port of Spain. College Fair 2010 saw more than 4,000 students informed, advised and on their way to tertiary education, breaking previous fair records. Fans of the U.S. Embassy Trinidad Facebook page soared over 12% in just one weekend to 3,320, as youths looked at photos and information on the site. In addition, several Embassy consular officers worked at the Fair to conduct presentations and outreach to packed crowds totaling 500-700 people, and took individual questions. Related seminars on the U.S. college application process attracted nearly 300 attendees in sideshow events.
