Wellesley College Newhouse Faculty Fellowships
The Susan and Donald Newhouse Center for the Humanities at Wellesley College was established by a generous gift from Susan and Donald Newhouse in 2004 to promote innovative, imaginative and influential research in the humanities, broadly defined. A vibrant place for the Wellesley College humanities community and visiting scholars, artists, and performers to come together, the Newhouse creates opportunities for intellectual risk-taking and the lively exchange of ideas.
The Newhouse Center hosts ten to twelve resident fellows each year —post-doctoral fellows, Wellesley faculty members on leave, and visiting scholars from other institutions. Resident fellows devote themselves primarily to their own research but also participate actively in the intellectual life of the institution: developing programming, meeting at weekly luncheons and salons, sharing their work in progress with one another and with the larger Wellesley community.
