English Conversation Club

This English Conversation Club offers English practice and some basic English teaching together with quite a lot of orientation and cultural input plus fun, welcome and friendship. Club provides an opportunity to get to know new people improve English language skills, vocabulary and The club is held every Thursday afternoon The topics are set by the members' suggestions or coordinator. The main aim of these Talking Point conversation worksheets is to promote fluency by presenting students with stimulating discussion questions. All Talking Point conversation worksheets are designed for use with students who have reached Pre-Intermediate level, though they are also very successful with Intermediate and more advanced students. The aim of the club is to provide the required level of communication practice for the graduate and undergraduate students and develop their communication skill of English .
Conversation club leads by Chuck Alton - PCV of GEIC. Everybody is welcome to participate in Conversation in spite of the degree of knowledge of English

TOEFL Reading Seminar

This workshop prepared for students who need help to understand the TOEFL* Reading test. We will study TOEFL iBT Reading strategies and questions, test tips, techniques, and scoring higher practices.

The seminar will take place at the Kyiv EducationUSA Advising Center (20 Esplanadna St., 6th floor, Kyiv) and will be held by a well-known and experienced tutor from the USA Kevin Huston.

* The TOEFL iBT® test (Test of English as a Foreign Language), administered via the Internet, is an important part of your journey to study in an English-speaking country. Sharing our stories: a blogging workshop with the Prince of Petworth

Join us for an intensive virtual workshop with blogger Dan Silverman, better known as the Prince of Petworth, as he chronicles the development of his award-winning Washington, DC neighborhood blog, PoPville, called the “King of Neighborhood Blogs.” Moderator Sharon Moshavi (International Center for Journalists) will help guide audience members and The Prince of Petworth in an active discussion and brainstorming session on best practices for sharing personal stories in blogs, with emphasis on ethics, standards and techniques. Pre TOEFL Classes

The GEIC offers opportunity for students to improve their TOEFL iBT skills and prepare students for the iBT TOEFL exam.. Classes include strategies and skills for mastering the TOEFL, as well as time for practice. Instructor give students individualized feedback on the writing and speaking sections. There will be an overview of all skills, question types and sample opportunities to practice each skill area. Tips and strategies will also be examined for each skill area. Some emphasis on pronunciation for speaking and grammar for writing likewise be included in the course. TOEFL classes are lead by PCV Rachelle King and take place each WED at 6 pm

CCC SAT Instruction

To ensure that the best and the brightest students in Armenia have a chance at a U.S. university, we have developed the Competitive College Club (CCC). The project is supported by American Councils, EducationUSA, and the Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy in Armenia.
The CCC program is a structured preparatory program that provides promising young Armenian citizens with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully enter U.S. colleges and universities, independently, while increasing their chances of receiving financial aid. Our research has shown that there is demand for SAT and TOEFL test prep courses, CCC will increase the students' competitiveness through rigorous instruction and create a comprehensive approach to U.S. college admission, thereby increasing their likelihood of being accepted into a college or university in the U.S. with scholarships.
The high school students receive monthly classes on SAT and practice with the SAT books available at the EducationUSA Advising Center.

Enlish Conversation Club
