To set the stage for our new series of events titled “U.S. Music Seminars”, FEAC will host the screening of select scenes from two movies: the NBC documentary “Life in the Thirties” and the legendary “Woodstock: 3 days of Peace and Music”. The discussions will be moderated by FEAC staff and interns.

FEAC Book Club of the Month: Colleges That Change Lives

To ease the transition into the new admission season, FEAC has scheduled three weeks of discussions centering on Loren Pope’s book, Colleges That Change Lives. This month’s book choice is meant to help prospective applicants see beyond narrowly defined ranking criteria that usually place large universities at the top of most people’s lists of favorite institutions of higher education. All reading materials based on this book are available at FEAC and will be provided to all book club participants for each weekly session.

Run by FEAC interns Stefan Ambrosie and Iulia Heleanu, the U.S. Music Seminars will cover a variety of music genres in all their American glory and specificity. The September sessions will be devoted to jazz, blues and the music of the 1960s. A full schedule and seminar syllabus will be available on the FEAC Facebook page.

Alumnus Discussion: Backward look and further plans= My USA Experience and My ...

The speaker for the discussion is Harutyun Gevorgyan, lecturer at the National Agrarian University, who became a Hubert Humphrey fellow at Cornell University. He has applied to 24 Universities in the USA and Europe to do his PhD.
