The EducationUSA advising centers and Embassies in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are arranging a fabulous tour for you to meet with students in their countries from March 30 to April 17, 2012. The 2012 EducationUSA South Asia Tour will take representatives of accredited U.S. college and universities to Male (the Maldives), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Katmandu (Nepal), Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad (Pakistan) and Kabul (Afghanistan). In each of these cities, the EducationUSA centers will organize a college fair, arrange for school visits where possible, and conduct a country briefing for Tour participants. We want this to be a cultural experience as well as a recruitment opportunity, so we will offer (when possible) sightseeing and an introduction to the culture in each of the six cities. We would like you to leave each city with a better understanding of the context from which our students come. The Tour is supported by and partially sponsored by EducationUSA and the U.S. Embassies, reducing the cost significantly for U.S. college and university participants. You will have 5-star hotel accommodation in each of the six cities as well as airport pick-up and drop-off. EducationUSA centers will ensure that you are well taken care of! The registration fee is U.S. $700. Your hotel costs will be paid by the embassy in Pakistan. For additional information contact the Regional Educational Advising Coordinator for South Asia, Kathleen Kisting Alam at REAC.Lahore@educationusa.info In keeping with the Department of State’s guidelines on how EducationUSA is allowed to work with agents, we will not allow U.S. universities to be represented during any part of the tour by a local agent or comparable local representative (including alumni). We seek to have representatives from the U.S. visit and meet with our students, and your cooperation with this is appreciated. If a participating representative plans to meet with an agent while in a host country, the meeting must be private and without media coverage or advertising during the duration and prior to the Tour. We appreciate your sensitivity to our need to avoid vying with other agencies or individuals for the credibility your presence confers during what is an EducationUSA program. The registration fee for this program for each participant is $700.00, which will be made payable to the U.S. Educational Foundation in Nepal. *Disclaimer: EducationUSA reserves the right to deny participation to U.S. college and university representatives who do not meet EducationUSA standards of ethical practice. Additionally, EducationUSA does not support the use of agents in recruiting and the pavilion is not available for meetings with any agents. |
