Program Highlights

Workshop on Gaming and Design

This was an event organized by USIEF for Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). USIEF organized a 3-hour workshop on Game Design and Development for Grade XI students at a local high school in Chennai. The workshop was led by a faculty member from SCAD who teaches Gaming and Interactive Design.

Professor José Rueda, a faculty member at SCAD, who teaches Gaming and Interactive Design showcased his teaching and design concepts in the form of a workshop for Grade XI students at a local school in Chennai. The workshop explored various aspects involved in the design of games, including setting, rules, balancing, and context of play. The workshop was aimed at students curious about what is behind a video game. Some understanding of, and exposure to, games was recommended but not essential for attending the workshop. Formal art education or computer programming was not required. The workshop lasted approximately 3 hours including a 15-minute break. This was a fantastic experience for the students to explore potential opportunities in an area that they may have not considered at all. The workshop was attended by 117 students.
