Program Highlights

Everyone Wants to be a Winner

The session on “How Best to Create a Successful Application” held on October 7, 2009 at the American Center, USIEF Mumbai was a crowd-puller. The session was conducted by Mr. Amin Abdul-Malik, Associate Director, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, from Yale University. He spoke about the how’s of a winning application package. Over 58 USIEF members, and 45 students from two prestigious schools in Mumbai viz. Ecole Mondiale World School and Jamnabai Narsee School were present.

Outreach to Swami Vivekanand Library, Bhopal

On January 28, 2010 USIEF Mumbai visited Bhopal for the first time in response to an invitation from Swami Vivekanand Library. The presentation on Higher Education in the US. was made to a gathering of 350 students. The audience had some parents who shared their reservations about sending their children as undergraduates for an education to foreign shores. This issue revealed the importance of parental counseling, especially at the undergraduate level. The audience had a mix of students who were well into the application process and of students who didn’t know where to begin. USIEF received a lot of publicity in the local newspapers and electronic media.
