10 Secrets of Getting into Top MBA Program
Bangkok Bank celebrated the 40th anniversary of its International Education Advisory Center by holding a free seminar on the “Ten Secrets of Getting into a Top MBA Program”. The seminar, available for all parents, professors and new graduates who plan to study abroad, was held on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 of March, 2008 and was filled up fast. The guest speaker at the seminar was Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President Mr. Piya Sosothikul, who graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with double bachelor degrees in chemical engineering and economics in 1993 with a GPA of 4.8/5.0. He then completed a master’s degree in chemical engineering at MIT with a partial university scholarship in 1995 and went on to complete an MBA at Harvard University in 1997, supported by a Bangkok Bank scholarship. Topics in the seminar included how to choose the right schools and universities, GMAT preparation, essay writing, how to write a recommendation letter, understanding the application process, how to increase your chance of winning a position at an internationally recognized university, resume and interview preparation and an overview of Bangkok Bank’s scholarship for studying abroad. 2000 attendees were counted within 2 hours of 2 days. The Public Affair, British Council, the Australian Education Center and Canadian Education Center Network participated in this event.
Booklet of 10 Secrets of Getting into Top MBA Program
After the lecture of Mr.Piya Sosothikul, Bangkok Bank has published a pocket book called “10 Secrets of Getting into Top MBA Programs”. The book features information gathered from a special seminar held by Bangkok Bank to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its International Educational Advisory Center. Bangkok Bank is the first bank to provide free advice and guidance to Thai students preparing to further their education abroad. The book is part of the bank’s educational support policy to help Thai students fulfill their potential. As requested, these booklets have been distributed in the General Orientation held by the Coalition of Non-Profit Educational Advisory Services since then.
