Graduate Study Workshop and College search

Friday February 05, 2010 a Graduate Study presentation was followed by a hands-on College Search Workshop. Each student had a laptop connected to internet and educational advisors helped the students. Most of the students were attending this seminar and workshop for the first time. They were interested in seeking admissions in Computer Science, Education, Psychology and MBA and there was active participation in Q & A session. Almost every student planned to apply for the Fulbright scholarship and there were many questions about eligibility and the GRE test. Feedback forms told us that students found the presentation and workshop very useful. There were requests for us to do workshops on Financial Aid, SOP and Fulbright Programs.

School Counselor Training

Thursday-Friday March 18-19, 2010 a School Counselor Training workshop was conducted. USEFP Islamabad hosted counselors from three branches of the Roots School System (DHA, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi). The intensive 2-day workshop guided the school counselors through all steps of the U.S. application and admissions process so enable them to, in turn, work more effectively with their students.

School Counselor Training

Due to the popularity of the first training session, an additional School Counselor Training workshop was scheduled for Thursday-Friday April 1-2, 2010. School Counselors from Froebel's participated in this workshop.

FIT Educational Counselor's Visit

Saturday April 03, 2010 a session was held on graduate and undergraduate admission procedures, financial aid opportunities for International Students, and general information regarding Florida Institute of Technology. The Director of Advancement Services at FIT and an FIT Alumni conducting this successful seminar.

Advising Open House

Tuesday May 18, 2010: An advising office open house was conducted with advising appointments scheduled in time slots throughout the day. The event was successful with many otherwise "inactive" students dropping in for last minute advice or general application inquiries.
