Virtual Advising

The German-American Institute, Tuebingen and the Amerika Haus Munich hosted their first e-outreach and advising seminar. The interactive advising session provided information about undergraduate, graduate as well as U.S. Ph.D. programs.

The fair should offer different kinds of media types through which the students receive information about study programs in the United States. :
- An introductory lecture gives them an overview of how their time abroad can be organized.
- Information stands offer face-to-face talks and brochures on study programs.
- Representatives from U.S. universities which offer interesting programs for international students are present via webcam and answer questions.
- Students currently studying in the U.S. are also present via webcam and tell the attendees about their experiences with studying abroad.
- Additionally, we will give introductions to new technology tools such as search engines for academic programs, and show EducationUSA advertisement videos.

Teachers Training

Our three-week advanced learning exchange gives German teachers an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of the USA, Australia, and Canada. Also, they can advance their pedagogic and language skills. The programs contain a preparatory weekend-course in Germany, the three-week stay in the USA, respectively Australia, and end with a "certificate"

„Rent an American"

„Rent an American. Die USA zu Gast in deutschen Klassenzimmern“ makes American exchange students available for classroom visits to German schools. This interaction complements the learning experience and will enrich the classroom in a unique way. This process gives American exchange students an opportunity to learn more about their host country. We pay for travelling expenses and offer an introductory workshop to prepare participants for their classroom visit.
