Program HighlightsAnnual High school counselors workshops Each September and January the EducationUSA center at the U.S. embassy Oslo organizes several high school workshops across the country to give high school counselors at Norwegian schools an in-depth understanding of the U.S. university/college system and application process. We invited educational exchange partners such as Fulbright, The Norway-America Association and the Association of Norwegian Students Abroad to give presentation. In addition, we invite relevant speakers from the U.S. on certain topics (helicopter parents, American high school counselors' expertise etc) to give presentations, too. If there are U.S. university representatives in Norway at the time, we let them give presentations to the counselors, but it has to be on an objective topic, they are not allowed to promote their own institution, but they can talk on general terms. Athletic Scholarship opportunities seminar The EducationUSA center at the U.S. embassy in Oslo has organized seminars on athletic scholarship opportunities to U.S. universities. We've helped them with the application process, and invited coaches from the U.S. to give them the inside scoop. U.S. universities who are interested in receiving more Norwegian students and have sport scholarships are welcome to participate at these seminars as long as they talk in general terms about college sports in the US. Inside scoop to U.S. universities workshops The EducationUSA center at the U.S. embassy in Oslo has organized "inside scoop" seminars for Norwegian students wanting to study at U.S. colleges or universities. We've had former U.S. university admissions officers come talk to the students about how U.S. college admissions offices regard/view international students, what they are looking for, how the students should write an essay which stands out etc. Seminar offered in several Norwegian cities. LL.M. seminar The EducationUSA center at the U.S. embassy in Oslo has organized Masters of Law seminars to students who have finished their Norwegian law degree. We've brought over U.S. LL.M. speakers as well as had former alums talk about their experience. Upcoming Events
