STUDENTS QUEUE UP FOR THE U.S. UNIVERSITY FAIR IN DELHI
On November 5, 2011, the U.S.-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), in collaboration with the Institute of International Education (IIE), Hong Kong, organized the “USIEF-IIE U.S. University Fair” at the Park Hotel in New Delhi. The fair drew close to 950 visitors to interact with the 38 participating U.S. University and college representatives. Renuka Raja Rao. Country Coordinator, EAS welcomed the University representatives, and briefed them on the topic “Understanding the Indian Education System.” Monica Shie, Consular Officer, American Embassy, New Delhi, briefed the University representatives on student visa requirements and fielded many questions. University representatives were presented folders containing useful information on the education system in India, current trends and on USIEF services. IELTS and Educational Testing Service sponsored the fair and also gave a presentation about the services and recent scholarships offered by them.
The Fair was preceded by school visits to Delhi Public School, RK Puram, ShriRam School, and ITM University where university reps met over 600 students. USIEF's Executive Director, Adam Grotsky hosted a welcome dinner for University representatives on the lawns of Fulbright House on Nov 4, 2011.
Alumni U.S. University Fair
USIEF'S US UNIVERSITY ALUMNI FAIR DRAWS RECORD NUMBER OF ENTHUSIASTS
The United States-India Educational Foundation organized its annual U.S. University Alumni Fair on July 7, 2009 at the The American Center in New Delhi. Designated alumni from 23 US universities participated in the three and a half hour public fair that received close to 500 aspiring students and their parents. The participating universities were a blend of public and private institutions and represented an extensive geographical and institutional diversity. These included Marquette University, Cornell University, Purdue University, Rochester Institute of Technology, State University of New York-Binghamton, State University of New York-Plattsburgh, University of Texas and Vanderbilt University amongst many other institutions. USIEF Deputy Director Dr. Diya Dutt gave the welcome address and brief remarks on the importance of Alumni Fair and the overall impact and contribution of successful alumni in developing stronger ties between US and India.
