Pre-departure Orientation for King Abdullah Scholarship Program (KASP) Recipients

The Education Advising Office participated in the Ministry of Higher Education’s pre-departure orientation program for KASP recipients. In addition, during the past 3 months we have hosted 15 two hour orientations in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dhahran, with more than 1,100 students attending overall. These presentations are on-going and are done in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security and the Consular Section.


Publication: Guide for Students Living in Saudi Arabia" in Arabic and English

The EducationUSA center created and published a 24 page ‘Guide for Students Living in Saudi Arabia’ in Arabic and English. This publication is handed out at all advising events, placed in the consular hallway and is available in pdf format on the U.S. Embassy/Consulate websites. Topics include advising services, visa information, FAQ’s, admission process, useful websites, finances, etc.

Brief description of the award, application process:

GOSI Starts Receiving Saudi Applicants for Scholarship Opportunities The Scholarship Program of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) starts receiving applicants for bachelor's degree
scholarships in the United States of America. The Program dose not only offer scholarships, but also provides the scholarship winner with a job upon graduation in the following GOSI
offices: General Requirements: 1. Holding secondary school certificate in the field of natural sciences for this year 2012, with the following conditions:  GPA is no less than 90%. 
Standard Achievement Admission Test is no less than 65%.  General Abilities Test is no less than 70%.  English Language Test is no less than 40%; TOFEL with 500 points; or IELTS with 5
points. 2. Not exceeding 20 years of age at the time of submission, according to the Gregorian calendar. 3. Residing in the city where he will work after graduation. 4. Passing the personal
interview and medical tests made by GOSI. 5. Holding Saudi nationality. 6. Filling out the online scholarship form via GOSI website (www.gosi.gov.sa) Submission Dates: Data Registration 
Document Submission From 03/ Advantages of Scholarship Program: 1. Monthly allowances and rewards during the whole scholarship period. 2. Employment with GOSI after graduation. 3. Monthly and
