Program Highlights

EducationUSA Higher Education Fair Madrid

In March 2014 EducationUSA hosted fairs in Madrid and Valencia as part of the inaugural EducationUSA Southern Europe Tour. Twelve universities reached out to 300 undergraduate and graduate prospective students in Madrid while seven universities met with 200 students at the American Space of Valencia. The events were so successful that EducationUSA plans to turn the Madrid fair into an annual event. Save the date for March 17-18 2015 and visit Lisbon afterwards!


Competitive College Club

Since May 2013 EducationUSA has been running a Competitive College Club for Madrid-area high school students interested putting together a competitive application for US universities. Excellent venue for college reps to showcase their institution.


Ministry Outreach Presentation

The Fulbright-EducationUSA Advising Center staff speaks at the Ministry of Industry, Toursim and Commerce, the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Public Administration on a regular basis to promote Fulbright grants for civil servants and graduate study in the United States. Important fields of study: Public Administration, Public Policy, Economic Analysis, Finance, Engineering.


Local Fair Participation

EducationUSA/Fulbright participates in local study abroad fairs held throughout the year, like EduFindMe, Top MBA, Top Grad Schools, CIS, etc. Of particular note was EducationUSA's IEW event scheduled around the EducationUSA Virtual College Fair for international students.


Monthly Newsletter

Since May 2013 EducationUSA in Spain has been distributing a monthly newsletter to nearly 7,000 contacts from our mailing list. We feature one US institution each month. Excellent showcase opportunity that complements our social media outreach.


Local High School Outreach Presenations

The EducationUSA Advising Center regularly visits local high schools to meet students interested in applying to US universities. Topics of discussion include how to decide where to apply, testing and how to prepare, and funding opportunities and how to apply.


Local University Outreach Presentations

The Fulbright-EducationUSA Advising Center staff travels to nearly 20 Spanish universities each year to promote Fulbright grants and graduate study in the US.

EducationUSA Competitive College Clubs (CCC) help the best and brightest students apply to competitive U.S. colleges and universities. CCC advisers work intensively to prepare students for the application process. CCC advisers organize student activities including study groups, intensive SAT and ACT preparation, reading assignments, lectures, and community service projects. Students sign a contract detailing their responsibilities, which include attending all meetings during the school year and summer sessions.
