In cooperation with the US Consulate, the EducationUSA center at the United States-India Educational Foundation in Chennai will be organizing a live streaming of a student visa presentation between 3-5pm on Friday, June 10th. Vijayalakshmi conducted a presentation about studying in the U.S. and offered tips about preparing a U.S. university applications. “The statement of purpose has to be a clear and concise. It can make or break your application,” says C. Vijayalakshmi, educational advisor, United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), at a seminar session as part of the fair. | More Indians Going to US Universities Date: Saturday, April 16th, 2011
The number of Indian applicants to US graduate programmes has increased by 7% this year, according to a preliminary survey by the Council of Graduate Schools in the US. This follows a 1% increase the previous year, while China, which saw a steady increase in the number of applicants to US universities, registered a 2% dip in 2010-11. |

| Record Number of Turks Studying at U.S. Universities Date: Thursday, December 2nd, 2010
According to Open Doors 2010, the annual report on international academic mobility published by the Institute of International Education (IIE) with support from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State, the number of Turkish students enrolled in U.S. institutions of higher education in 2009/10 increased from 12,148 to 12,397, a 2% increase compared to the previous year. |
