Center Description: Бишкекский Ресурсный Центр финансируется Отделом образовательных и культурных программ Государственного Департамента США и Фондом "Сорос - Кыргызстан". Центр принадлежит к сети консультационных образовательных центров EducationUSA, в состав которой входят более 450 центров по всему миру. Основной миссией Бишкекского Ресурсного Центра является распространение информации о возможностях получения высшего образования в США, а также предоставление консультационной поддержки всем заинтересованным кандидатам.

Центр открыт для школьников, студентов, профессоров, ученых и всех желающих получить образование или провести исследования в ВУЗах США. Бишкекский Ресурсный Центр проводит индивидуальные консультации, лекции, семинары по следующим вопросам: как правильно выбрать ВУЗ или учебную программу; как найти финансовую помощь для учебы за рубежом; как подготовиться к сдаче стандартизованных тестов: SAT, ACT, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT и др.; как написать успешное сочинение, резюме или рекомендательное письмо и многим другим. Центр располагает богатой библиотекой каталогов университетов и колледжей США, справочниками, книгами для чтения на английском языке, учебными материалами для подготовки к стандартизованным тестам, а также компьютерами с доступом к Интернет, аудио и видео программами для повышения уровня знаний английского языка. Пользуясь услугами Бишкекского Ресурсного Центра, вы имеете уникальную возможность подготовиться к поступлению в зарубежный ВУЗ и будущей успешной карьере.

На сегодняшний день общее количество посетителей Центра составляет около 1000 человек в месяц. С каждым годом количество заинтересованных в получении высшего образования или проведении исследований в ВУЗах США постоянно растет.

Все услуги, предоставляемые Бишкекским Ресурсным Центром - бесплатные. Центр открыт с понедельника по пятницу с 9.00 до 18.00. Обеденный перерыв с 13.00 до 14.00.

Program Highlights

Presentation at Kyrgyz - Turkish Lyceum in Bishkek

On February 18, the Bishkek EducationUSA center conducted a presentation at the Kyrgyz - Turkish Lyceum in Bishkek. The presentation was organized by EducationUSA Opportunity grantee Nurbek Boroev. EducationUSA adviser Anara Jamasheva conducted a presentation on studying in the U.S. for high school and teachers of the school. She also spoke about the EducationUSA Opportunity Grant program. 100 people attended the event.


10 Bishkek Students Awarded EducationUSA Opportunity Grant

From January-April 2011, ten students in Bishkek were awarded the EducationUSA Opportunity grant. EducationUSA Opportunity grants are funded by the U.S. Department of State and are designed to increase access to U.S. higher education institutions for highly qualified international students of limited means. These grants fund outstanding prospective students to cover the upfront costs of attending a university in the U.S.


Guest lecture -Aleksanders Ans, Gilman scholar in the Bishkek EducationUSA center

Aleksanders Ans, Gilman scholar, starts giving lectures on a weekly basis on Fridays for all intersected in U.S. education at Bishkek Resource Center, Soros Foundation Kyrgyzstan. During the lectures Aleksanders informs students about peculiarities of the admission process, for instance structure of educational system, how to write winning statement of purpose and letter of recommendation, how to organize personal curriculum, extracurricular activities, grading system, credit hour system and other issues that is important for students intending to enter U.S. college or university.


Bishkek EducationUSA outreach lectures in Talas region.

The Bishkek EducationUSA Center and American Corner in Talas hold a number of outreach lectures in the Talas region. Jamasheva A.Z, head of the Bishkek Resource Center, Marayapova A, head of the American Center, Andrea Surdu, Peace Corps volunteer, Djumagulova Ch, assistant of American center made presentations on the following topics: “Educational opportunities in the USA”, ‘How to apply to U.S.colleges/universities. Document preparation.', “Opportunity funds” and other scholarship programs for Kyrgyz citizens. The total number of attendees for the outreach in Talas region interested in US education was over 340.

scholarship; • boost the quality of teaching and research in the social science and humanities; and • build and sustain local and international academic networks. The program offers two
separate tracks of support for eligible scholars: TRACK I (TEACHING TRACK) is devoted primarily to developing the teaching and research expertise of younger faculty with an eye towards encouraging
improved course content via improved research and pedagogy. These fellowships last up to 10 months, are not renewable, and are tenable at universities arranged by program administrators. TRACK II
(RESEARCH TRACK) is devoted to helping well-established faculty to pursue research leading to publication at universities outside of their home country. These fellowships last up to 5 months, and are
