While it was spring break in High Schools there were many students who got information about Advising Services/Resources available at Astana EducationUSA Advising Centr A presentation entitled “Women's Colleges in the United States: History, Issues, and Challenges” March 12, 2012 - Women’s History Month Event. Meeting with Shade Adu, English Language Teacher at Nazarbayev Intellectual School, devoted to the topic of women’s colleges in the USA. Shade prepared a presentation entitled “Women's Colleges in the United States: History, Issues, and Challenges”. Shade informed the group that these institutions were created to promote and expand educational opportunities for women and that the institutions quickly became synonymous with brilliant teaching and academic excellence. Women’s colleges encourage leadership skills in women. Aliya Jakupova, FLEX 2011 alumna assisted Shade with the presentation Advising at A2 International Educational Fair March 14, 2012 - 65 University representatives from the USA, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Turkey, Switzerland, Malaysia and others countries took part. Many students were interested in education in the U.S. Astana EdUSA Advising Center informed students about resources of the EdUSA Advising Center and services for advisees, provided information about US education. The adviser made a presentation on how to apply to American Universities Presentation for Students from Philology Department, Eurasia U February 20, 2012 – Presentation for Students from Philology Department, Eurasia U. Students learned about EdUSA resources, library. EdUSA Advisor gave a presentation on the TOEFL test, test taking strategies, test prep materials on- line and at the Advising Center. She reminded students that they can take this test in Astana Participation in Education Fair “International Education – 2012” February 22, 2012 - EducationUSA Adviser promoted American System of Education through mouth-to-mouth consultation, handouts and PPt “If you want to study in the United states”. It was great interest among students to get information about admission procedures to apply to American Universities.
